The City of South Gate helped GEAR UP 4 LA kick off National GEAR UP Week 2021 with an official proclamation that was presented during the Sept. 14 City Council meeting.
“These folks are special because they’re the ones that guide [students], assist them, encourage them, and give them all the motivation so they can move on … to a university, community college, or a career,” Mayor Al Rios said. “The important thing is that they’ll be contributing individuals to our community.”
