Monique Ohashi graduated cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in sociology and a minor in ethnic studies from UC Riverside. She holds a teaching credential and a master’s degree in education from UCLA. In 2018, she completed her doctorate in educational leadership at Cal State L.A.

“I love working with dedicated and passionate individuals who care so much about our GEAR UP students and families. My GEAR UP colleagues, students, and families make all the work that I do worthwhile.”

Wendy Bradley, who was previously a middle school teacher, holds a bachelor’s degree in biology from Hiram College, a master’s degree in educational administration from Ohio State University, and master’s degree in counseling from Cal State Dominguez Hills.

“For the first time in my career, I can counsel my students without distraction. I wanted my office to be that place where my students come to dream. I have that space here at GEAR UP and I am excited!”

Daisy Navarro graduated from East Los Angeles College with an associate in psychology and social and behavioral sciences and holds a bachelor’s in psychology from Cal State Northridge.

“I have worked in education for a handful of years now and I am so excited to be working with GEAR UP this year.”

Arlene Alvarado graduated with a bachelor’s degree in sociology and a minor in psychology from Cal State Long Beach.

“I enjoy having the ability to change a students’ life by giving them an outlook on what their journey could potentially look like with the right guidance.”
