This summer, over 1,000 GEAR UP 4 LA students experienced enrichment programs that immersed sophomores and juniors in the college experience, encouraged career exploration, and advanced their academic goals and leadership skills while improving summer learning gains.
These diverse and specially-designed summer programs – held in person, virtually or hybrid – ranged from residential/commuter college prep and social-emotional academies that allowed students to spend time on college campuses and explore postsecondary options, to accelerated math and dual enrollment opportunities to support their college and career readiness.
Overall, students spent 85,275 hours engaged in advanced learning and social-emotional opportunities while creating new connections with other GEAR UP students.
