Developing Growth Mindset For Families

At GEAR UP West 2017, GU4LA facilitated the session “Developing Growth Mindset for Families,” about the program with four middle schools under the 2-year Skills for Success grant in conjunction with Families in Schools and Stanford University’s Program for Educational Research that Scales (PERTS).

With the session’s guiding question, “How can students’ growth mindset be affected by specialized teacher training and in-depth workshops for parents?”, participants learned of the program structure, steps in the theory of change, and how coaching for adults is mirrored in the classroom. Our presenters led attendees through sample activities as experienced by families, with time for discussion on how this important work may be replicated in their own districts and schools.   Click here GU-WEST-2017_Final for a copy of the presentation.
